This Negima?! DVD picks up good where the previous set’s cliffhanger left off. The immediate crisis is attended to in fairly short order, but a whole fresh can of worms opens along the method and our young heroes bag themselves in a bizarre alternate reality where anything can happen. (As if that wasn’t the case already in Negima’s “Accurate” world.) What follows is a lot of crazy, random, bizarre, and over the top humor/action/and even a itsy-bitsy drama that fans of Negima have approach to quiz.

Other than that I can only declare my thoughts from the first dwelling, which are that this version of Negima, while not as gook as Ken Akamatsu’s unusual ongoing manga series, is far far more exquisite than the first Negima anime series. That series was a toned down recreation of the first six and a half volumes of the manga series which really unprejudiced barely scratched the surface. This series started over and did something a bit different, giving us an all novel memoir that doesn’t fit with the new continuity wise but by itself is quite fun. It does seem to occupy your familiar with the characters from either the previous series or the manga though, as far less time is spent on character’s backstory.

All in all, if you’re a Negima fan, this version of it delivers.

I was happy when this finally came out… It is fair as silly as the first fragment of season 2.

My three year ragged loves this DVD! He asks to examine it at least once a day. My husband and I like the fact that Baby Gain experiences both the sure and negative aspects of becoming a astronomical brother. One of the clips of “dependable” people depicts a family having a third child, and one of the older siblings has Down’s. I worship that Sesame Street doesn’t apprehensive away from using kids with special needs and shows that they are impartial regular people like the rest of us. Also, scenes in the hospital note that it is not a scary status to be.

Our 2 1/2-year broken-down boy loves this video. He showed small interest in it before his petite sister was born but really enjoys watching it since she has joined our family because he can characterize to itsy-bitsy bear’s experiences. It has helped him understand both the sure and negative emotions he was feeling about being a mountainous brother, and has helped him understand why his baby sister cries and doesn’t play with him yet. It is a huge gift for any family expecting a fresh baby.

I never conception they’d be able to pull this off, but at long last, Freaks and Geeks is available on DVD. The display aired briefly during the 1999-2000 season before NBC abandoned it to hurry an extra night of Dateline (shudder) . TV truly has become a spacious wasteland in the time since. A friend of mine worked on the indicate and let me check out the discs. I was tremulous they would screw up the DVD and do something uninteresting like catch out all the songs to attach money (over 100 were traditional) . It’s all there and it is truly awesome.

29 different commentary tracks (withhold in mind there were only 18 episodes) borders on the obsessive, but if you’re a geek, this is bliss. They got all the key cast members, including Linda Cardellini and James Franco, as well as writers, directors, television executives and even the parents of John Daley, Sarah Hagan and Martin Starr and some fans. There are some huge bloopers and slack the scenes clips where people are completely out of character. And they also included the recent audition tapes for the major characters, which are resplendent arresting. If you go on the Freaks and Geeks website you can notice a couple clips including Samm Levine’s well-known impersonation of William Shatner that landed him a fragment on the expose.

In addition to this DVD, they also have a collector’s edition that comes with a yearbook and 2 more discs of extras. But that’s a shrimp edition they halt selling in March 2004 and you can only gain it through their website. Haven’t seen that, but if it’s anything like this station, it will rock.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Freaks and Geeks - The Complete Series! Click Here

They obviously set in a lot of work on the DVDs. I’ve seen other TV collections and they behold like they’ve been thrown together. Here, every menu on every disc has a different image from a scene. And every time you change menus (on EVERY disc) a different dialogue clip plays, followed by some of Mike Andrews’ fresh compositions for the indicate. Some of them go on for a couple minutes and most of these are songs I’ve never heard before. I’m a hardcore fan and I was prepared to rip them if they screwed with the legacy of the exhibit….but this DVD blew me away. Freaks and Geeks will become the standard by which all other TV reveal DVDs will be judged.

Yes! F&G is finally coming out on DVD!

For those of you who weren’t lucky enough to behold F&G during its all-too-brief urge, you’ll soon have your chance to experience a upright television gem on DVD. Freaks & Geeks ran sporadically on NBC during the 1999-2000 series, and then in reruns on the Fox (now ABC? ) Family Channel. In short, it’s the myth of two siblings: Lindsay & Sam Weir, and their trials and tribulations as high school students in Michigan circa 1980. Lindsay is a junior and a aged overachieving whiz-kid who undergoes a crisis of self after the death of her grandmother, and tries to regain herself as a novel member of a clique of underachieving stoners. Her brother Sam is a sensitive, nerdy guy trying to compose his method through freshman year with a tight band of dorks and misfits.

As I write this, I realize that a brief summary doesn’t originate to do justice to this multi-layered demonstrate. It’s hysterically silly, poignant, often painful, and never tries to have the neatly tied-up generic sitcom ending. The secondary characters are as well realized as Sam & Lindsay, and really gain the present special (including SCTV’s Joe Flaherty as the ambivalent Mr. Weir, Samm Levine as Neil, and Martin Starr as Bill Haverchuck) . There are so many moments on the exhibit that I personally identified with, and I can’t imagine anyone who was subjected to the tortures of high school life that wouldn’t be able to at times. (Though it helps if you lived through the early 80’s or can connect with references to the Jerk, Dallas, Dungeons & Dragons, and/or Neil Peart of Urge…) . I could preserve on going about the point to, but I’ll let you pick up out the rest for yourself. Now, to the DVD…

The standard edition of the DVD is described in some detail here, and includes the 6 episodes that never aired on NBC, as well as many extras. However, especially if you are a fan of F&G, you owe it to yourself to check out the petite Deluxe Edition that’s available directly from the creators of the present at www.freaksandgeeks.com. Here’s the description from the site:

“In this Deluxe Edition, we achieve it all into an expanded 80-page foil-stamped and embossed yearbook presented in honest Freaks and Geeks style loaded with photos and memorabilia from the display. The yearbook is filled with personalized notes, tons of photos, even photos of many of you, script pages, a expect, a letter from Paul [Feig, creator of the show], a Q&A with me [Judd Apatow, exec. producer], details about every explain, a letter from Mr. Rosso, poetry, rock and roll lyrics, reprints of articles about the reveal, and lots more.

· three live “table reads” of some of our best episodes

· a one-hour Q&A with Judd, Paul & the entire cast at the Museum of TV & Radio in LA shot a few days before we got cancelled

· tons more auditions, deleted scenes, promos and outtakes

· some of our celebrated scenes in the raw footage from a single-camera perspective

· guidance counselor Jeff Rosso & Feedback live in concert

· the corpulent new electronic press kit, filled with interviews with the cast and crew
· a script that was never shot
· a special music and photo gallery
· surprise Easter eggs
· even more unhurried the scenes footage edited by Jason Segal and Martin Starr
· and other things that are unique and hard to recount”

It runs for the steep brand of $120, but the arrangement I figure it is, this is the only season of F&G you’re going to salvage, so you may as well do it just! However, you won’t go rank with either version, so do yourself a favor and check it out.

I’ll leave it to others to comment on the film itself, but I do want to warn potential purchasers that the DVD transfer leaves a lot to be desired. The new film is 2.35:1; the DVD is 16:9 letter boxed (not anamorphic) so about a third of the film is missing and it is clearly determined in quite a few scenes. The quality of the transfer itself, while not unpleasant, is not particularly grand either.

If you catch this video and the other tale relating to this same time (Zulu) you’ll know all about the British and Zulu war in Africa. This film, Zulu Dawn, tells the memoir of the debacle at Islandhwana where spear-carrying Zulus badly mauled British rifles and effected the greatest defeat of so-called natives on British arms. It sticks gorgeous cessation to the valid history of the engagement. The action is the star, but spacious names appear throughout. John Mills, Peter O’Toole, Burt Lancaster. A sterling job of filmaking if you like military action and stories of the Thin Red Line of Britain’s heyday as a colonial power.

To gain the bulky relate you might also want to secure “Zulu”, mentioned above, starring Stanley Baker and introducing a very young Michael Caine. This is more along the lines of Gunga Din and portrays the just heroism of the British (Welsh really) at Rorke’s Drift, a subsidiry action to the events of Zulu Dawn. Again with distinguished historical accuracy. Both films are British made and together originate a nice balanced commentary on England’s shortcomings and successes in the Zulu War.

I guess I should start off with this is NOT pornography or obscene. The plot ? Simple enough: It follows the adventures of two (beautiful) ladies, who are prostitues..Or actully, they resemble more along the lines of “call girls”.

One is from Paris, the other from Munich. The film itself is actully beautiful to look at - The city lights of these areas have never looked so exotic. The black & white photography just adds to the mood, along with the (dated) 60s soft jazz sound - BUT IT WORKS !

As far as the sex/nudity goes, there is nothing here that can’t be shown later at night on your local PBS station. There are flashes of nudity here & there, but its not exploitive. It shows women mostly as bodies of ART, and not sex objects. The sex in the film is very subtle, but I seem to think that with an imagination, it becomes VERY erotic.

This film is actully very tender and deals with issues that COULD be obscene, but in this film - they are handled with care.

Unfortunately, some of the acting is sub-par, the dubbing is fair…I have seen worse..MUCH worse. But if your into the early 60s B&W moody, artistic, film noir style (with a touch of eroticism) - THIS IS FOR YOU.

Very well done - I just wish more erotic film directors would follow the same path, as this gem of a movie. It’s never cruel, rude or discusting.

To say that this is a film with a message would be an understatement, because it comes across so emphatically certain and succinct, and it is this: To wage a war against drugs, you must first advance to terms with the sobering fact that the enemy is often a member of your enjoy family; and how do you wage a war against your have family? A sobering message? Insightful? Indeed. And, when you believe the implications of it all, devastating. Ponder that awhile and you’ll originate to secure a sense of the futility visited upon those who would attempt to rectify a state that affects practically everyone everywhere sooner or later, either directly or indirectly; and it is honest that location that is addressed and presented with no-holds-barred by director Steven Soderbergh in his incandescent, hard hitting film, “Traffic,” starring Michael Douglas and Benicio Del Toro. The film examines the trafficking of drugs between Mexico and the United States, and the long-ranging effects thereof; and Soderbergh tells the tale through a number of perspectives, which effectively presents the “large characterize” of the drug trade and the subsequent impact it all has on the lives of so many people.

Probably the most telling perspective in terms of futility is that which is shown through the eyes of Robert Wakefield (Michael Douglas), a reflect who is appointed the country’s “Drug Czar,” and given the task of “making a incompatibility.” It’s a pivotal character inasmuch as it is through his involvement that so remarkable information is presented, not all of which is anything fresh, but when taken within the context of the yarn has a mammoth emotional impact. Through Wakefield, not only is the unbelievably far-reaching plight of illegal drugs illuminated, but the attitudes of all of those it touches on all levels, from the heads of the Mexican cartels to the kids who utilize and abuse the product made so readily available to them by the drug lords.

A man of principle and high ideals, Wakefield begins by educating and familiarizing himself with all facets of the drug trade. He swiftly learns that although he is far from naive in terms of the reality of what he is dealing with, he actually has no view of the depth and scope of it, like how powerful better equipped and financed the cartels are than the U.S. Government, for instance. Another troubling aspect of the sage engrossing Wakefield is the lack of respect accorded him by the young people with whom he comes into contact, not only in his official spot, but simply as a human being– especially by his beget sixteen-year-old daughter and her “friends.” Unfortunately, it realistically reflects an attitude prevalent within a wide faction of our society today; and it’s one of the strengths of the film that it can so succinctly pick something so distressing, something that should be of monumental grief to everyone, for it’s an integral share of a larger something that touches us all. Also realistically portrayed is Wakefield’s reaction to all of this; the helplessness born of the diminutive ways of combating what he encounters is extremely well realized and conveyed by the film, and it enhances even more that already overpowering sense of futility.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Traffic! Click Here

From the Mexican side of the border, the record unfolds through the perspective of Javier Rodriguez Rodriguez (Benicio Del Toro), a old of the Mexican Highway Patrol; and it’s from his side of the fence that we initiate to understand the ramifications of the politics, money and power, and ruthlessness that so empowers the cartels. In these segments, the dialogue is in Spanish (with English subtitles), and Soderbergh uses a tint to the film that lends a visual sense of detachment to the action; it’s almost like watching an outmoded newsreel, which gives it an air of authenticity that works because it’s incorporated with the emotional substance that ultimately provides the genuine impact.

The superlative cast Soderbergh assembled for this film includes Don Cheadle, Luis Guzman, Dennis Quaid, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Steven Bauer, Jacob Vargas, Erika Christensen, Miguel Ferrer, Amy Irving, Tomas Milian and James Brolin. An well-known film of gut-wrenching implications and staggering emotional proportions, “Traffic” evokes a sense of futility and loss (especially in the final scenes) that is, at times, overwhelming. It makes you realize objective how ample the drug trafficking trade is, and how any efforts to eliminate or even occupy it simply pale in the light of it’s enormity. It’s like a terminal cancer, spreading and eating away at the fabric of our society; a disease that reduces the value of human life to the barest minimum. It’s a movie that will affect everyone on a different level emotionally, depending somewhat upon personal experience and frame of reference, but there is no doubt that this is a film that will manufacture a lasting impression on anyone who sees it; but be prepared, for this is great drama that elicits a sense of hopelessness which– I’m positive for many– may hit unbiased a bit too cessation to home for comfort.

2000 was a noble year for director Steven Soderbergh. First was the lively “Erin Brockovich”, then the tense, complicated, well-acted “Traffic”, which was probably the best movie of last year and which won Soderbergh the Oscar for Best Director. The place is constructed of five interlinking sets of people: a newly appointed American drug czar and his family, the Mexican drug cartel, two Tiajuana plainclothes men, a couple of U.S. wiretap specialists, and a wealthy San Diego family whose fortune is a tiny less than legitimate. Michael Douglas is the star, playing the drug czar who discovers that his teenage daughter (Erika Christensen) has been inhaling free execrable and is zigzag. Don Cheadle and Luis Guzman are nicely paired as the eavesdroppers, and Steven Bauer and Catherine Zeta-Jones play the San Diego couple whose lives collapse when an informer names the husband as a leading importer=exporter of illegal drugs. Dennis Quaid, who gets over-the-title billing, is convincing in a minute, unsympathetic role as their opportunistic lawyer. Ms Zeta-Jones’ character is the most controversial, morphing from suburban mom to Lady Macbeth upright before our eyes. But, of course, most of the attention has been focused on Benicio Del Toro as Javier Rodriguez Rodriguez, the Mexican cop whose loyalties are constantly being challenged. He deservedly won the Oscar, though in the outrageous category. Because his character both opens and ends the legend, and because he has (I mediate) more veil time than Douglas, he should have been nominated for Best Actor. Some of the movie’s station elements, particularly in the second half, don’t work. The informer is obviously poisoned by a breakfast that is brought to him while his police escort is in the room. Why would they allow a stranger to aid food to a heavily-protected region ogle? (The informer is played by Miguel Ferrer, the son of Jose Ferrer and Rosemary Clooney.) Also, I didn’t maintain the drug czar’s aborted acceptance speech for a exiguous, and his daughter’s return from the insensible was too pat and painless. But the level-headed conclusion, with Javier watching a baseball game, was effective, proving that Stephen Gaghan’s screenplay (another Oscar) didn’t need a bang-up ending to complete a forceful epic.

The Perfect Holiday is not necessarily a bad movie but its far from a good one too. While I admire a movie that does not try to be offensive and wants to be positive there is a thin line from being a little schmaltzy to laying it on real thick. The movie is not unwatchable. It has a talented all-star cast that do a decent job acting but the script is hackneyed and cheesy to a fault plus its pretty bland.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Perfect Holiday! Click Here

Spoiler Alert!

The story: Gabriell Union plays Nancy, a newly divorced woman who’s daughter overhears her conversation about what she wants from a man: a compliment. The daughter goes to a mall Santa(played by Morris Chestnut) named Benjamin and wishes that her mom gets a compliment by her man. Benjamin(Chestnut) gives Nancy a compliment and soon they begin to date. Problems arise when Nancy’s naive son, John John gets annoyed by Benjamin because the little tyke misses his arrogant and thoughtless wannabe-rapper father J-Jizzy(played by Charlie Murphy)who would rather be large than be with his family. Then things get even more complicated for the relationship between Nancy and Benjamin when J-Jizzy asks for Benjamin, who also sings to record with him. Queen Latifah plays Mrs Christmas, an angel who is also the narrator of the movie.

Opinion: Positive: this movie is not terrible. Negative: but its not memorable either. Positive: it has an all-star cast. Negative: they are all wasted on a script that pulls every Christmas cliche out of the book.

Positive: The Perfect Holiday is earnest and has a heart. Negative: its syrupy to the point of cheesiness. Positive: it makes an effort at humor. Negative: The humor misses more than it hits. Positive: Its the least offensive Christmas comedy ever made. Negative: It wallows in mediocrity like pigs do in mud. Positive: Its great to see a movie especially an African-American film that is not based on sex and violence. Negative: Its kind of bland and the schmaltzy scenes are a bit much. All in all I would recommend this movie to you if you want to see a Christmas movie starring African Americans that is not offensive but Last Holiday and This Christmas are much better. Perfect Holiday is far from a stinker but when compared to great movies like This Christmas Soul Food, The Wood, The Inkwell, Love Jones, Brown Sugar etc Perfect Holiday can easily be forgotten.

I love Gabrielle Union and Morris Chestnut BUT The Perfect Holiday was not perfect. The story line was CUTE but not written for a major motion picture. This type of movie would have been great for Lifetime or a movie that goes straight to DVD format. I gave the movie 2 stars because the cast was well picked but the story line was lackluster.

Continuing his unparalleled examination of human relationships, Wong Kar Wai returns to the character of Chow from In the Mood for Admire, who had one chance for cherish, lost it, and has never gotten it benefit. (While it is not vital to have seen the ancient film to understand 2046, In the Mood for Treasure is such a incredible film, that I recommend it to anyone who likes 2046) . Tony Leung gives a improbable performance, clearly showing that he knows he should treat his women better than he does, but after giving his heart once in vain, he is not prepared to ever do so again.

Buy,Download, Or Stream 2046! Click Here

2046 appears at first to be a year in the future, but is ultimately revealed to be the number of a hotel room where Chow had his one chance at happiness. He finds a modicum of that innocence once again, this time in 2047, with a different woman (the daughter of the innkeeper, played by Wang Faye), the only one he treats with anything like the affection he had for the woman who had shared (platonically) 2046 with him earlier. He writes a sage for her, called 2047. She says she likes it, but wishes it had a happier ending, something fans of Wong Kar Wai sometimes long for, but realize would not be apt to that which goes on during his stories.

Aside from Tony Leung’s masterful performance, 2046 is the perfect platform for the greatest Chinese actresses of today, demonstrating once again that no one can smash your heart like Maggie Cheung, no one can get you joyful like Wang Faye, no one can be a [...]like Zhang Zi Yi (albeit one that can detached have her heart broken because she uses a hard exterior in a vain attempt to protect a brittle interior) and no one could ever be as heavenly as Gong Li.

Buy,Download, Or Stream 2046! Click Here

Like most of Wong Kar Wai’s movies, the ending can be called bittersweet at best. He has only had one semi-happy ending, in Chungking Philosophize, which also featured Tony Leung and Wang Faye (the only other time she has appeared in one of his movies) . This time, the only character who ends up tickled is Wang Faye’s, largely due to Tony Leung’s intervention. I don’t know if that is a coincidence, or perhaps a comment on the fact that it isn’t really possible to have anything but a ecstatic ending when her vivid cheeks and eyes bless the hide. For all of the other characters, however, we peruse great of the same unfulfilled longings and reconciliation to the alienation so many feel toward their families, friends and lovers.

Each of Wong Kar Wai’s films has built up to this ultimate part on what it means to be human and to know other humans. You should really look all of them, but even if you unprejudiced contemplate this one, you will be the richer for it.

As a young college student many years ago, I took a film class as a kind of lark and to fulfill some requirement or other. It was aesthetic noteworthy a slay of time. There was one camera to go around among twenty students, so we each got about a week with the thing and hardly anybody got anything done. The one trustworthy thing was that we got to seek some avant-garde films. They were loyal eye-openers, in that film, to me, had fine great always been a depiction of a linear legend line with a beginning, middle, climax and kill. The avant-garde films we watched rarely had any kind of a yarn line at all, but despite this the better ones were unexcited able to elicit a satisfying emotional or intelligent response.

The first thing you have to remember when you spy 2046 is that there is not a veteran sage line here. In fact, the haphazard nature of the film’s scenes–past, indicate, future, imagined and “valid”–don’t even acquire sense in their contain illogical framework. You have to know this going in because if you strain to develop sense of the plot–as we have all been conditioned to do–you will miss the point. Indeed, I had to look this a couple of times.

The film consists of a series of scenes primarily focusing on a Chinese writer named Chow. He is in Singapore, and leaves a dazzling woman slack who may or may not have loved him. He is in Hong Kong, and falls for another stunning woman who is murdered in her hotel room. He tells the hotel-keeper that he wishes to proceed into this room–2046–because he is evidently trying to return to this region in his mind and his heart. Of course, he can’t, literally or figuratively, so he is given the room next door. He begins an affair with a prostitute who moves into 2046 and who loves him with every fiber of her being. He uses her as a prostitute only. He falls in esteem with the hotel-keeper’s daughter who herself is in cherish with a distant Japanese man her father despises. He writes a science-fiction piece–visualized in the film and entitled 2046–which is a anecdote of the future and a utter on which female androids help one but with whom one must never drop in care for, and on which he imagines himself to be Japanese.

Ehh, no, this is not a coherent storyline. The future is mixed with the past which is mixed with the reveal which is mixed with his myth which is mixed up with his imagination. In the raze, it occurs that it is entirely possible that all of these women are the same person; that they are simply some ideal of adore he has concocted in his mind. Maybe not.

Visually, the film is a stunner. Every scene, every backdrop, every set-piece is carefully and meticulously orchestrated. Cigarette smoke drifting above a cluttered desk; a beautifully-clothed female get asleep on a bed; cards laid out on a green table in a dusky restaurant: you could paint these scenes and hang them in an art museum. The framing plot is also very artful. It is constrained and prevents us from seeing what we want to glance. It is hard to comprehend. More importantly, the attention that is being paid to these details and the beauty with which they are rendered concentrates the viewer’s attention: something incredibly indispensable is going on. This feeling is reinforced by the musical score–opera and classical mostly–which drifts in and out plaintively.

The acting, from the smaller to the larger roles, is spectacular. So mighty is going on beyond that which is said, and beyond that which is implied. All of the actors and actresses are grand, but special mention must be paid to Ziyi Zheng, who plays the prostitute, and who burns a hole in the conceal every time she appears on it. She is an un-erupted volcano of barely restrained emotion: thin, fine, lonely, sensual, and terribly, terribly dark.

In the slay, and without perhaps realizing it, we understand that the film works as a statement on the human condition, and the clumsy, random device we try to peer happiness in it. We behold apt admire after our chance for it is over, or after our previous actions have rendered it impossible. Or maybe because we failed to seek it altogether. Or maybe because we are not Japanese, or younger, or older. Complete, unfettered happiness only exists in 2046, a room we cannot enter; a year that is in an unfathomably distant future.

That this film is an current and successful experiment with the medium, that it is so beautifully photographed and scored, that it is so perfectly acted, and that its expansive themes are completely realized, do it one of the best films of the year, if not the decade.

…the ball was dropped on this film. Someone in Hollywood believed Brendon Fraiser and Jet Li in the same film would miraculously create this a winner. That someone should lose his job.

Synopsis: Stale Chinese warlord is reawakened (along with 10,000 Terra Cotta warriors) to conquer the world. And there are Yetis….

The first two movies in the series were fantastically inviting. You had action, emotion, cherish, despair, and discoveries of a linked past that made the movies tantalizing. They had salubrious scripts, glowing effects, and acting that made it seek accurate. I perceive them over and over. This dog…well, at least I watched until the slay.

Whoever cast this movie screwed the pooch. Fraser, as Rick O’Connell is, of course, generous. I like the gung ho balls ahead character. He IS the character. In fact, he is the franchise.

Rachael Weisz declined to return citing problems with the script. Boy did she form the moral call. So Maria Bello is cast as Evy. Dear God In Heaven. what where they thinking! Where Weisz played Evuy with emotion, perfect timing, and a boatload of sex appeal, Bello is a block of freaking wood who phones in her section. She has NO fluidity, no sense of timing, and not a notice of sex appeal. In fact, a block of wood could have done a considerable better job.

In the 2nd film, The Mummy Returns, the son, Alex, has a very strong `proper’ English accent and typical `Brit’ attitude. In this movie, Alex (Luke Ford) has NO sign of accent or his English upbringing. He plays the role like a young John Wayne, as if he was raised in Arizona. It totally fails.

Jet Li as Emperor Han…well, I loved him in Lethal Weapon 4, Unleashed, and The One. He should have done the role of Emperor Han with the same soft-sneering attitude he had in LW4. But he wasn’t directed that plan in this film. He was concrete, and wooden. There was no sense of surprise upon awakening 2000 years later. No marveling at the changes in the world. No wonder at how the world had changed. Totally unrealistic.

Redeeming factors: Michelle Yeoh (very huge star in China) as Zi Yaun, the witch who betrays Han gleaming his merciless character, Isabella Leong as her immortal daughter, and Russell Wong as General Ming Guo (Han’s lawful hand man who falls in savor with Zi Yaun) . John Hannah plays Evy’s gold-digging brother seamlessly from the prior films.

And there are the Yetis. Ya gotta appreciate the Computer Graphics. At first, the Yetis were fluff, but then you inaugurate to like them. They are the `untarnished good’ surrounded by disagreeable.

The special effects are admirable. The battle scenes at the ruin are exceptional. The warriors (and Han) turning to sand and clay are so wintry, myself and my friends all gave it a astronomical `WHOA!’.

Rent it, objective to behold it. Maintain it, ONLY if you need to complete the series.

Hope this helps you resolve.

This movie was a stout let-down. I LOVED the first two Mummy movies in the series and could seek them over and over. This one was written so abominable that the lines could be laughed at throughout the entire thing (and I don’t mean the comedic lines) . The wife is a different person and is abominable, son talks like John Wayne and is too primitive compared to the years that went by, and Jet Li was barely in the movie/had any lines. The special effects in this movie were mediocre in 1995 and that’s saying something. The yarn of it completely broke off from what it was in the first two. The wife has no connection to her past like in the second one whatsoever. I would not recommend this to anyone that loves the first two. If you don’t want to demolish the series and have not seen this movie, then don’t even mediate about watching this. I have never been so disappointed in a movie.

This review refers to the 20th Century Fox DVD edition of “Shining Eyes”…..

I’ve always been a sucker for exiguous Shirley Temple singing “On The Noble Ship Lollipop” and couldn’t resist picking up this DVD.From 1934, this narrative takes you abet to a time of innocence that unbiased can’t be done again in today’s world. Shirley will tug at your heartstrings and you’re pleased to let her do it!

This sage was tailor made for Temple’s charms. Already having lost her father, “the best aviator there ever was”, she is now the apple of they eyes of all the flyers at the airport.Espcially one,’Loop’ Merritt(James Dunn), her father’s best friend who loves her dearly.Shirley lives in the home of a wealthy but unpleasant couple where her mother is a maid. When tragedy strikes again, and Shirley’s mom meets with an dejected accident, the fight begins over who will adopt this adorable orphan.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Bright Eyes! Click Here

In the short span of 83 minutes, it’s a legend that has laughter, tears, adventure and lots of like. If you fancy Shirley..this is a must have. But it’s not fair the Shirley exhibit…the rest of the cast is terrific. James Dunn, Jane Darwell, and Lois Smith will all touch you, but the two that nearly assume the present are Charles Sellon as Uncle Ned, an conventional curmudgeon who becomes a loyal softy around Shirley, and petite Jane Withers…the brattiest brat there ever was. All this minute tyke wants for Christmas is a machine gun!

I was very joyful with this DVD by 20th Cent Fox. Yes it was a bit on the grainey side, but the film, now 70 years extinct, showed no scratches, lines or cracks.I hope I inspect that superior at 70! I nearly had a alarm attack though when I read the help of the box and it said that this version was colorized, but don’t concern, when you pop it in the player, the first thing that comes up is a choice of the current B/W or the colorized version..so you can study both and glimpse which you steal. You also pick up the choice of viewing it in the newly enhanced stereo or mono. There are also subtitles in English(captions), and Spanish.

It’s a nice one to sight during the holidays as a capable fraction of the epic takes spot during Christmas. If you are a fan..introduce a modern generation to Shirley. This a expansive one to launch with.

Sweet Landings…..Laurie

So I’ve been a gargantuan fan of Situation 88 ever since the unique anime came out in the 80’s. It had a appealing plotline, obliging character development, and big combat scenes. Too awful they made only one of the three volumes into a DVD.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Area 88, Vol. 3: Tightrope at the Speed of Sound! Click Here

I was extremely jubilant at the news that ADV films was going to remake Place 88. After I watched the entire series, I must admit that I was a minute disappointed, but found it unruffled very appealing to ogle, and that’s the reason why I calm give it a 4.

There were a couple of things about the fresh series that I did not like. First of all, the new series was rated MA, meaning it was meant for the customary viewers. The blood, violence, nudity, and language all added to the unlit, desperate tone of the unusual series. However, with the recent Situation 88 series, the rating was a TVPG. Not even a TV PG-13. Wow, this change took a lot out from what I contain the recent creator had intended. I felt like it was a watered-down version of the unique series.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Area 88, Vol. 3: Tightrope at the Speed of Sound! Click Here

Secondly, the original series had recent characters and left out some of the obsolete characters from the novel series. I actually liked the recent characters a lot. They added a lot to the space and discreetly revealed some key elements about the main character, Shin Kazama. However, the mere fact that some of the new characters were taken out infuriated me. They had contributed so powerful in terms of character development and unfolding of some of the mysteries in the memoir.

Having said that, I do not want to assume this series in comparison to the fresh series. Instead, I rate it on its possess at 4.

I unexcited recommend watching this anime. It’s a stout series.

I reflect that Set 88 deserves some respect considering that it’s the first anime to really go into the spectrum of fresh (or near-modern) air combat. The dogfighting sequences are like a flash paced, if not too unrealistic, and will satiate almost any aviation buff. That being said, there are a few uncouth points as well.

Being only 12 episodes long, the main position is built very speedy, rushed actually, with time wasted in petite single-show subplots, more especially early on. It’s not until disc 2 that you really learn what’s going on, and disc 3 finally expands on that. Disc 3 felt magnificent great like 2 or 1; broad air to air action certainly, but the status forced into 12 episodes makes the viewer less empathetic with the main and supporting characters.

All in all, if you’re a fighter jet fan and would like a point to with that Top Gun feel to it, more luster; posthaste ’60s and ’70s-era planes blasting one another out of the sky, and less status line, or less pronounced dwelling line, more correctly, than by all means, this is for you. If you’re more into plots and complex storylines, you might want to pass this one over. If you’re share of that later party, but have a sincere affection for fighter aircraft, you will probably quiet rep a well-behaved deal of enjoyment in this expose.

That modesty and that sentiment seems to be shared by all the survivors of Easy Company, 506th PRI, and many of them can’t gain help the tears as they notify it. One of the enormous benefits of this edifying series was the closeup interviews of the right men portrayed, those improbable feeble seamed faces, breaking at last with emotion as they grasp their experiences and the fancy of their comrades and the afflict of loss of other friends. It moves me greatly, and I’m jubilant the Extras in this residence has an extended documentary re-tracing the time-frame of the film with these true veterans recalling the action we’ve seen re-created.

Brought with loving care and fanatic attention to detail by producers Steven Spielberg & Tom Hanks and their carefully chosen band of producers, directors and actors, this is an unsentimental, near-documentary telling of the memoir of Easy Co. from training to D-Day, Hedge Row fighting, Operation Market Garden, Bastogne, into Germany, liberation of Death Camps, and the seize of Berchesgarden & Hitler’s Eagle’s Nest.

Throughout it all, the aim has been to drawl it straight and obtain it correct. They have done so in considerable style. The truth HAS enough drama, and the various episodes command it. We secure to know these men and care about them. We marvel at their endurance and the design they go about getting the job done, professionally, and with matter-of-fact, everyday courage. It is a legal tribute to the Citizen Soldiers who won the war.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Band of Brothers! Click Here

With 10 episodes and lots of extra goodies, presented within an exceptional package, there is fair too grand to review here. Some memorable moments: the harrowing jump into the explosive, tracer-lit night skies of Normandy; the assault on the 88’s; Winter’s killing the young German; the episode dedictated to the Medic; the plain artillery barrage on the men in the snowy forest of Bastogne; the shock of the farmer’s wife on seeing the closeup hand-to-hand killing of the German by “Bull”; and finally, the incredibly inspiring scenes of the liberation of the Concentration Camp, and the final days of Easy at the War’s raze.

These last episodes are all the more noteworthy because we have followed Easy Co. and these men and have seen the death so random and arbitrary around and among them that a listless emotional tension has been built that we now realize with the intensity of anger/pity/horror at the Camps and the bittersweet joy and subsequent farewell of VE day.

I could cite tall moments by each individual actor, and nicely played and effectively understated but powerfully emotional scenes but suffice it to say this is an ensemble allotment with pleasurable performances throughout. The tranquil power of the different episodes underscores how wonderfully written the entire share is, and with corresponding pleasant direction and production values.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Band of Brothers! Click Here

A one-of-a-kind production, having the time to deny the sage with detail and care, and with all alive to doing honor to the men who lived it. And finally, there are those men, bringing it all attend to the reality of exact lives lived. Exceptional stuff.

Band of Brothers is an dread enchanting and visually heavenly tribute, not only to Easy Company, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division, but to the “Greatest Generation.” But for their sacrifices, would we allotment the freedoms we so admire and covet to our vests today! Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg deserve all of the awards and accolades they received for bringing this chronicle to HBO and now this fantastic DVD box residence!

Part 1 - Currahee - Currahee is a amazing beginning to this unprecedented HBO miniseries. Outside of the movie “Saving Private Ryan” there has never before been such a realistic series such as this one. Currahee poignantly highlights the training that was important for the newly designed Airborne Infantry. While some may assume that Captain Sobel was a complete idiot, in all truth, his combat skills were obviously lacking however, as a trainer, he assign Easy Company in a very agreeable place as a well trained unit.

Part 2 - Day of Days - D-Day has arrived and Easy Company makes the jump that they’ve been preparing two years for. As history unfolds, the German flak has caused nearly every plane to miss their designated topple zone. 1LT Winters finds he’s in Normandy, lost his weapon and his company. He finally arrives at the assembly region and is given the mission to retract out a German artillery status. Day of Days is an agreeable episode that doesn’t miss out on 1LT Winters depth of emotions as he loses his first soldier in combat.

Part 3 - Carentan - Easy Company is ordered in to select the French village of Carentan. While encountering only minor resistance, they rob light casualties. After successfully taking the town, they’re ordered to disappear on to the next impartial. En route, they encounter the German force sent to retake Carentan. They stalemate for the evening, expecting to forge a bulky assault in the morning. The Germans have other plans though and counter attack in the morning with a combined force of mechanized infantry and armor. Fortunately for Easy Company, they are finally rescued by the 2nd Armored Division. Shortly after this action they are lucky enough to gather some R&R benefit in England. The point to ends with orders benefit to the front and a very poignant final scene to yet another astounding episode.

Part 4 - Replacements - Replacements jumps forward to September and Easy Company is on R&R in England. They’re called into Operation Market Garden. Easy Company is given the mission to grasp Eindhoven, Holland. They were told they would be running into light resistance. Operation Market Garden turns into a stout failure and the Allied Forces are turned befriend with heavy casualties. Sgt “Bull” Randleman is quite wretched enough to collect stuck unhurried enemy lines. “Replacements” is another pleasurable episode.

Part 5 - Crossroads - Crossroads is one of the best shows of the whole miniseries. Captain Winters, due to the costs of war, garners advancement from Easy Company Commander to Battalion Executive Officer. The episode is shown, through the eyes of Captain Winters as he is preparing a describe on the actions of October 5th when he led his company in the attack of a German SS dwelling. The more telling piece is later in the episode when he gets an R&R in Paris and the horrors of war regain up to him.

Part 6 - Bastogne - To quote Captain Winters, “we’re paratroopers; we’re supposed to be surrounded.” Bastogne tells the fable, from Easy Companies point of thought, about the 101st Airborne Infantry being surrounded by German forces and holding the line during the Battle of the Bulge. This is also the combat action where the Commanding General of the 101st Airborne replied to the German Commanders expect for their surrender, “nuts.”

Part 7 - The Breaking Point - January 1945 and Easy Company is on the verge of attacking the Germans in Foy, Belgium. Due to heavy resistance, Easy Company endures nearly a month of being barraged by German artillery on the front line. This episode is very telling as far as the how demoralizing the artillery can be.

Part 8 - The Last Patrol - Easy Company is on the front line in the Alsacian town of Haguenau. They now have the sense that the war is coming to a conclude, as they are unbiased across the river from Germany. The brigade commander orders a patrol across the border to pick up German prisoners. This episode again brings to the forefront the emotions of the soldiers as they again are counted on to carry out their mission!

Part 9 - Why We Fight - This episode is clearly the most poignant of the series as Easy Company finds and liberates a concentration camp. Although there had been rumors of these concentration camps, no once could truly comprehend what they were about until they were faced with them! This episode alone should’ve garnered several awards.

Part 10 - Points - Easy Company takes Eagles Nest, Hitler’s mountaintop fortress. The company settles in as an occupation force, yet expecting to be redeployed to the Japanese warfront. A very emotional what happened to several of the units members after the war. Overall, this episode is a amazing conclusion to the “Band of Brother.”

Disk Seven

We Stand Alone Together: The Men of Easy Company - An outstanding documentary containing interviews with surviving members of Easy Company! Once you’ve seen all of the episodes, this documentary introduces you to the sincere members of Easy Company.

Ron Livingston’s Video Diaries - This is an exceptional position of clips filmed by Ron Livingston, who played Lieutenant Nixon, covering the “actor boot camp” bustle by Captain Dale Dye, USMC Retired.

Although I really be pleased dance workouts, I was a small wary of this one, as I had heard that instructor MaDonna Grimes didn’t cue very well and that there was a lot of “take-it-from-the-top” movements, which I abhor. So, I was pleasantly surprised to score that I LOVED this video! The workout basically breaks down into 3 segments: warm-up, dance routine, and cool-down (these are not chaptered on the DVD) . The 10-minute warm-up gets legal into some basic dance steps such as the merengue, getting your heart rate up true away. MaDonna sometimes fails to fully define the movements, but my minimal experience with unbiased a few prior dance videos allowed me to follow along with no problems. There are a few microscopic jumps included in this segment, but they don’t appear until about 5 minutes into it, when you’re already well warmed up; some basic stretches achieve this allotment.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Dance Fitness for Beginners with MaDonna Grimes: African Beat - Latin Heat! Click Here

During the 12-minute dance routine fraction, MaDonna introduces original moves one at a time, gradually building up to a complete dance routine. When teaching the moves, she did something I’d never seen before that I really liked: instead of teaching one segment with 3 different moves, a second segment with 3 different moves, and then stringing the two segments together (I always accumulate it difficult to remember the first segment), she’ll declare 3 moves and then introduce 2 unusual ones, but she combines the last recede from the first 3 with the 2 modern ones (I hope this makes sense!) . This blueprint makes it very easy to remember the order of the moves, as you’re constantly combining the older moves that you’ve already learned with the modern moves. Even more importantly, the moves are FUN–mambos, hops, hip swings, etc.–and the time unbiased flew by!

The workout ends with a brief (4-minute) cool-down. I liked the neck stretches that were included here, although some people might have to be careful with these. The DVD also includes a 10-minute bonus workout for the lower body: MaDonna leads you through 4 different types of squats, performing several sets of each, and she ends with some brief standing and floor abs work. An additional DVD feature is a music-only workout option. Some people might complain that this workout is too short (about 26 minutes overall), but MaDonna packs a lot of both anguish and fun into that time period, making this video perfect for anyone who wants to salvage in some swiftly, intense, yet extremely enjoybable cardio work. Highly recommended!

The first time I tried this workout, I loved it so noteworthy that I instantly had to do it again. On the conceal of the DVD it says, ‘leaves you sweating for more’, and with regards to my experience with it so far, that is exactly what it did. It left me sweating, and wanting more!

Buy,Download, Or Stream Dance Fitness for Beginners with MaDonna Grimes: African Beat - Latin Heat! Click Here

Here’s what you get:

10MIN WARMUP - This combines a few vulgar impact dance moves with a few stretches. Some of the stretches are a bit ‘hmmm…’, but you only do them after you’re VERY warm. This is around 10 minutes, which is a proper length for a warmup. Some of the moves you learn in the warmup will be re-used in the dance fragment of the workout.

15MIN DANCE - Madonna teaches you the moves one by one, building together a longer routine. One thing that I admire about her teaching is that once she’s taught you a recede, she practices what I like to call ‘the transition’. This is where you practice the recede that comes unprejudiced before the recent recede, as well as the current travel. If that doesn’t earn sense, say that she’s taught moves 1-3 and is teaching you the 4th depart. Once she’s taught the 4th go, she practices moves 3 and 4, before going through the whole routine from the 1st proceed. This Latin combination includes hip swings, mambos, cha-chas, and a very tricky samba-travel step.

5MIN Icy DOWN - Here, Madonna takes you through some of the stretches that you did in the warmup, as well as some neck stretches - some people will need to be careful with these.

10MIN BONUS - This is not a african-latin dance segment, but rather a residence of intense toning moves. She teaches 4 different types of squats, as well as some ab work.

Madonna and her group of exercisers - both male and female - exhaust in a nice street-dance-studio-esque region. If that doesn’t place the scene, the floors are polished wood, and the walls are unlit red brick, with pillars, potplants, and windows scattered throughout. The windows in the room don’t overlook anything, but seem to have a hide of turqoise light outside it; emulating a blue sky. It kind of reminds of the ancient Ricki Lake sets (encourage in the day!) .

In terms of instructor personality, Madonna is a breath of recent air. She is relaxed, laid assist, and interacts with the other exercisers in a ‘hey-wassup-mate’ manner. In addition, they also interact with her the same method - giving a fun atmosphere; like being in a class, but not an outrageous ‘whoop-it-up’ atmosphere like in Kathy Smith’s Timesaver Cardio.

For those of you who are absolute beginners to dance, you will rep this difficult. What I suggest you do is ignore the arm movements for the first couple of times that you try the DVD, and focus on the getting your legs good. Also, ignore the samba-travel step and fair slump here; thats a very difficult step, and it’ll only purchase practice-practice-and-more-practice to gain it lawful. Madonna moves through the moves resplendent fleet, only giving a couple of opportunities to learn the steps before incorporating them into the routine. She is superb at cueing, but not so wonderful at teaching the moves.

A word of warning, the second go that she teaches in the dance allotment (which also appears in the warmup) involves you swinging your arms and your head. Steal it easy on this travel, since I really got into it, and it was inevitable that I heard a huge CRACK from my neck, oops! It looks like Madonna and one of the other girls are going hard out with this disappear, but thats because their hair is long, so for your safety, don’t try to emulate them.

A refreshing, intense, short workout that is LOADS of fun! Cheers!
